How are permissions assigned in MEG?

To make life easier, we’ve grouped the aforementioned permissions into easy to understand permission groups. The permission groups can be used to categorise users within your institution:

  • Standard users: Your auditing / incident management team. The people you rely on to collect and analyse data.
  • Administrative users: Your admin team. The people who work closest with MEG and who look after the Users / Forms for your organisation.
  • MEGDocs users: An additional feature added to both above user types. If your organisation has MEGDocs enabled there’s a good chance all your users will have at least view access to some documents.

Within each category, permissions are “tiered” with tier 1 being the highest level of permission. The higher tier permissions inherit all permissions from the tiers below, meaning you don’t need to give a user more than 1 permission from each category. The exception to the rule here is for an administrative user who you would like to have the ability to set up other users, it’s important to remember that they can only grant permissions that they themselves have on their account.

Local admins can change the permissions via the settings page.
